Perhaps I have not fully grasped the stick but why don't they...

Make the bloody thing work with windows 7.

I know nothing about computers but surely someone with DBAOL must have the wit to solve the problem!

The problem here is that they stopped developing the game year ago. It it not covering it's costs and there is no reason for them to further develop it.

Unfortunately :-(

On one hand - as Gary said - DBAol is an old programm and not in active development anymore.
On the other hand - it works with windows 7 (at least for me ). Have you tried all the tips I've send? Perhaps you've got a computer-savy friend that can help you?

Good luck once more!

Just upgraded to a Mac and attempting to run DBAOL through Windows 7 platform using the virtual machine Fusion software, however I have the same issue - freezing at start up. Tried the suggestion above to no avail. Anyone else found another solution to the problem?

I'm still playing through my netbook, which is on Windows XP, but this is a pain...

How are you running Windows? Through Bootcamp or something like Parallels? I run BootCamp and XP on my MacBook and it works fine, however, running under Parallels on my MacPro (XP too) DBAOL doesn't run at all, it doesn't seem to like the way Windows handles the video switching.

Luckily I can run both machine at the same time and so play DBAOL on the MacBook and do some real (ie not Windows :-) stuff on the other machine.

I've had no success running it through an emulator, can you boot native in Windows for DBAOL?

Am I right in saying that when you run Windows in VMWare Fusion you are able to access Mac & Windows apps?

I have only been able to run DBAOL by booting native (ie booting Windows not Mac OS and then an emulator (such as VMWare Fusion).

Try holding the alt key down when you start up your machine, I suspect you will not be able to boot into Windows, but you may be lucky (?) and be able to.

Yes, Fusion allows both Windows and Mac apps. I think it's going to be easier just to run DBAOL off my netbook, although it's a pain anyways you look at it.

C'mon Gary, get the take over done and upgrade this frackin' programme!
