Default Magister Militum per Capitoline Territorialis

Hi Folks,

This is to announce plans for a new DBA prize at Cancon following on from the discussions on the ACT DBA Championships thread.

The Magister Militum per Capitoline Territorialis is envisaged to be the Uber Magister Militum prize across the Australian Capital Territory's DBA Circuit.

Across the four DBA competitons in the ACT
DBA With a Twist - May
ACT Championships - August
Landwaster - November
Cancon - January of the following year

We will rank each player by their adjusted score and calculate it as a percentage of the number of participants.

Players that play in at least 3 of the tournaments will be eligible for the prize where the average value of their best 3 rankings will be used to determine the winner.

So this year if you have competed in either the LKL Bloodbath or are entered into the ACT Championships you are in the hunt.

Baldrick, Doug

we need to have a bit of a pow-wow at the ACT Championships to nut out the finer details, and maybe start the ball rolling for sponsorship.

Cheers

Default ... so it goes

Indeed we failed in the nutting out process, life intruded on wargaming as it does.

Still, we managed to get something together

Jason found a sheild we can use as a perpetual trophy and I managed to get the message out that a new trophy was in the winds. At Cancon I have negotiated an in principle agreement to have the trophy sponsored and so will nut out the details this month.

For those that like Stats

There were a total of 51 players who entered the four DBA Competitions in the ACT across the Magister Militum per Capitoline Territorialis circuit this year and of this half century we had 13 players qualify by playing in at least three comps. There were 4 players who did the whole circuit Doug Melville, Brenton Searle, Mark Baker and Mark Haughey. David Phillips who won the inaugural trophy only qualified by enterering Cancon.

The rankings were calculated as the average of the best 3 adjusted scores and expressed as the percentile. The adjusted score uses my element rating system to rate each players army - an adjusted score for each game is calculated as Tournament Score * Opponents Army Rating/Players Army Rating.

The final rankings were

David Phillips - 6th Percentile
Brenton Searle - 12th Percentile
Mick Sellman - 25th Percentile
Jason Dickie - 28th Percentile
Doug Melville - 29th Percentile
David Angelosante - 36th Percentile
Mark Baker - 37th Percentile
Mark Haughey - 42nd Percentile
Mark Raadgever - 46th Percentile
Murray Woodford - 52nd Percentile
Alex King - 52nd Percentile
David Osborne - 52nd Percentile
Leigh Dunn - 91st Percentile

This year's Magister Militum Per Capitoline Territorialis kicks off in May with the DBA With a Twist Tournament - Broad Front (Details to be worked out soon).

Default Sponsorship

Folks,

Eureka Miniatures has taken up sponsorship of the Magister Militum per Capitoline Territorialis.

So thanks to their generousity - we will have a Title Plate for the perpetual sheild along with nameplates for the annual winners.

In addition they will donate a DBA Army to the winner.

A big thankyou to Nic Robson of Eureka and all the more encouragement for those that can compete in the Eureka Mininatures Magister Militum Per Capitoline Territorialis Circuit.

Event one will be the DBA With A Twist Event held in May

David,

DBA with a twist is listed as 25/5, a Tuesday. Should this be 23/5 or 30/5?

Thanks,
