Default Best 15mm Late Romans, Goths & Huns

Hey all: Any opinions on the best 15mm Goths, Huns & Late Romans? Were the Black Hat/ Gladiator figures sculpted by Josef Ochman? Thanks! Any manufacturers (besides Essex whom I don't really like too much) provide DBA packs? Thanks!

Default My 2 cents worth

Hi Lecoqfou,

I cannot go past the "Pass of the North" figures (http://www.webspawner.com/users/thepass1984/). And yes they do come in DBA packs.

Regards

The Black Hat/Gladiator ranges that start with 2 letters, such as FE and GO, were sculpted by Ochmann. The ranges that start with 3 letters were not.

The Essex Huns were redone a few years ago and are actually very nice with a lot of pose variation within the packs. The Gladiator ones are nice but IIRC there are not a lot of different poses.

As for Late Romans, Khurasan Miniatures is going to release a new range soon. From the preview pictures they have posted they look very good.

Very happy with the sculpting of all their LIR figures that I have, though that is mostly the mounted.

Aluminium foil from an instant coffee tin. Works okay for the moment, no doubt there will be tears once they hit the table.

You can now get both Goths and late romans from Old Glory in 24 foot or 9 mounted packs. This makes them more condusive to making DBA armies. We may be able to afford to make DBA custom armies again. Though at this time, the demand for FoG bags and armies is far greater than DBA army sets at the shows I attend.

Thanks miros, the infantry archers are already available, the heavy and medium infantry (with command) are in the pipe, should be out in a few weeks, the first cavalry are being worked on by Clibinarium, who sculpted all of this stuff and made the Pendraken 10mm Late Romans.

Here's what the first batch of archers look like:
