Now that there are three with a desire to play in the Marian games, it deserves its own thread. Shall we call it Fortune's Favorites?

A few more entrants and we'll be drawing up a proscription list and buying property in the Subura on the cheap. :

Free? Well, of course its not free. Now you've gots to pay to enter the lists, Sextus Flavius. Given your timidity in coming forward, I think a banquet for all of Fortune's Favorites is in order, but its really out of my hands as to the total cost for you. Your fame and fortune could be at risk, especially if you end up being proscribed.

As to the time, it might be fun to play before things get started officially and scheduled play begins. Now that there are four, perhaps we could draw lots and have teams. Play one BBDBA of Marian vs Marian? Or play rounds and spread it out? Listen, this has just exceeded by organizational abilities.

One glaringly obvious problem is Roland. He needs to buy a vowel, or perhaps, dear Sextus Flavius, you could give him a title. Any ideas, Roland?

From looking at the Schedule it doesn't appear anyhting is going on Thursday morning. Saturday morning is for Beginners, I think. Do those times work for everybody?

I think Thursday morning would be the best. Saturday Marty needs help with the beginner's clinic.

And you claim to be a "Marius"? The shame, the pity . Let me look up hayseed in Latin. And speaking of that, shouldn't Roland take a name and/or title, a proper Roman one, that is, and hastily, before voting for the time?

Additional paticipants are still welcome, providing they are of patrician lineage, apply with the proper humility, and their gifts are sufficiently expensive.

I'll put together some little tokens as prizes for all participants, guaranteed not to exceed 10 Mexican centavos in value (combined ).

I vote for a big battle so we can add as many players as show up sinc ethis is a pick up. Thursday AM should be fine. I guess I have to wait for a Roman name though for my vote to count.

Next weekend I'll get a few others to "sign up". Unwilling non Romans at heart perhaps but fodder for the legions.
