Default Pyrrhic II/27B

Hi Guys,

in thread i want to show& share the progress of my new project: 15mm Pyrrhic II/27B
From time to time i will post the updates here :

The army consists of the following elements:

1x3 Cv or Kn --> I choose the knights option
1x3 Cv or Lh --> I think the Lh is the better option: What do you think?
1x2 Lh
4x4 Pk
2x4 Sp
1x4 Aux
1x2 Ps
1xEl

The cavalry, psiloi and the pikes will consist of greeks, the spears will be italian hoplits, the aux will be samnites (same figs like spears, but equipped with pili) and as elefant I choose the carthaginian eli

Comments, hints & tricks are always welcome

The initial situation:

On the left you can see the 2x2 Lh, 1x3 Knights (with Pyrrhos himself - companions are missing on the picture), in the centre 1x El, 4x4 Pk and 2x4 Sp, on the right 1x4 Aux and 1x2 Ps

Great brushwork!

It looks like one of the figures was not primed. Do you paint straight onto the metal? Do you paint them stuck to the mounting base?

Can't wait to see these guys done!

Hi Matt,

thanks for comment!

No, i dont paint straight onto metal. Both figs are primed twice. First in black and then in white. I dont stuck them directly on the base. I use UHU PATAFIX pads to stuck the miniature on a wine kork. Then i prime the fig. Maybe the reason why the base of the right is not primed is because i press the miniature in the pad and after painting, i pull it out. I hope this picture can show better what i mean

Advantage of this method is:
- you can rotate the mini while painting
- you dont need to glue the mini on the kork - just press it in the strip
- in order to get kork you have to drink wine

Disadvantage:
- sometime some primer gets lost from the base and the sandals when you pull the mini out of the pad.

I hope yours questions are answered! If not please let me know

Glad that you like them!

HI there

I'd go with 1 xKn, 1 x Cv and 1 x LH. I find that mix works well in combined arms forces.

Then again you might as well paint both options, some Galatae, more Ps and Ax and you're on the slippery slope to the Hellenistics morph syndrome.

enjoy
