Here we go. Currently working on an all-options triad for Indonesia, circa 1650, with Indonesians, Colonial Dutch, and Colonial Portuguese. First up are the Indonesians, which are done except for the 3 LH elements and the two howdah riders on the elephant.
![]() ![]() All figures by Grumpy. Next up will be the stalwart Hollanders from the Dutch East India Company. More to follow as they are painted! Last edited by botswanafury; 04-30-2011 at 12:06 PM. |

This is exciting! It's a conflict I haven't seen in miniature gaming. I look forward to more pics of your progress.

Oooo... very colorful. Keep the pics coming. I'll forward to seeing the Portuguese too. They have sport unusual mercenary types, if I recall.

I am using Grumpy's off of the Eureka webpage.
The standard DBA-RRR list that I am using is... 1 El of Lh General 6 4Wb 1 Sk Then 4 from : 2 Lh, 2 Bw or Sk, 4 4Wb, 2 Sk, 1 Sk, 1 Art. It will be an interesting list to play, with lots of Wb, as well as some Sk, Lh for mobility and an option El or Art for heavy support. They are aggression 1, which means on the defensive they should be fine, especially with lots of bad going which will mess up enemy pike and shot units. I'm not sure how useful the elephants will be, due to their high cost to move, as well as the opponents' lack of cavalry and the fact that both the Dutch and Portuguese can field Art units. Their opponents will be the Colonial Portuguese, which are blade and shot-heavy army, with African, local Chinese, and Arab slave infantry. The Colonial Dutch will be the other opponents, which are pike and shot heavy, but have up to 3 Wb elements of their own. With these three armies, each can fight the other two, although in practice I'm not sure how much the Portuguese and Dutch fought each other on land. Either way, should make for some interesting conflicts in the lush jungles in the far off corners of the world! Now I just need to come up with a good Indonesian flag to use... ![]()
