Chronology of Wartime Service

June 5, 1863

Setting off at 1:00 a.m., the Brigade marches 16 miles past Spotsylvania Court House toward Gordonsville. According to Col. Evans, the march was "most disagreeably dusty and fatiguing...poor fellows, we have done very little marching in six months and their feet were badly blistered."
