Dear Sir,

My company (The Ben Hill Guard) is now in camp drillying-I have eighty men. All young, healthy, strong, & can do service. I hereby tender you their service for any time they can be received for. Can you give us a place! If you can, notify me immediately, as they say, (xxxxx men under my command) if they cannot get a place they will disband. I think we are entitled as no company has been called from our county yet. Write to me soon (seven words crossed out).

I am your obedient servant.
