Stone Tower

Stone Tower

Scratch-built stone tower suitable for Dark Ages through Medieval period BUA. One of my first attempts at a DBA scenic, this BUA project was inspired by Games Workshop's "How to Make Wargames Terrain", although certainly not as successful as the projects pictured in that book. The tower itself is made from the cardboard tube from a roll of toilet tissue. I painted it grey and drew on the stones with a black magic marker. The base is a cardboard disk built up with wall patching compound. The wooden roof tiles are irregular snips of white card laid over a conical roof made of card, and painted brown after assembly. I didn't mean it to come out so irregularly, but had trouble laying even courses over the circular, sloping roof. The stairway, door frame and windows made up out of balsa wood trimed to shape. I used some aquarium gravel to fill in under the stairs.
