Reinhard Sabel's
PICTS
211-846 AD
DBA II/68
This is my DBA Pictish Army in 1/72 plastics, with both sublists.
It contains all options, except the 3Cv-Gen from sublist (b) All
human figures are by RedBox "Picts". Horses are from Italeri "Celtic
Cavalry" and the Chariot from Airfix "Ancient Britons".

Pictish Commander
(1x LCh-Gen) - Sublist (a)
Either a warlord (toiseach) or local lord (mormaer).

Pictish Commander
(1x 3Sp-Gen) - Sublist (b)
Commander with personal retainers.

Horsemen (2x 2LH)
Light Horsemen for scouting, skirmish and pursuit.

Wild Highlanders
(1x 3/4Wb) - Sublist (a)
Wild warriors with axes, half naked. Charging in a wild rush.

Clan-Warriors (5-6x 3Sp)
The Main Infantry. The RedBox set shows few
Spears and only small
shields/bucklers. Nonetheless these warriors count as 3Sp,
sturdy fighters in battle-line.

Skirmishers (3x 2Ps)
Javelinmen. The Picts might have had some
early cross-bows,
but the RedBox set has none.
