MARIAN ROMANS (DBA II/49)

I just finished a Marian Roman Army DBA-II/49 (105 BC- 25 BC). The Legionaries are not veterans, as they do not have any shield blazons. The army composition is 2x3 Cv, 8x4 Bd, and 2x2 Ps. The horse hair plums are white, although I believe that most historians believe that they should be black (with the way I paint black may have been too much for these figures, they may have looked, too unfinished.) I chose green for the tunics and shields, which I believe is a possible as any other color for that period. The general has a purple cloak and I tried to add a little flair to the Ps. Had I to do it over again, I believe that I would have ordered some shield transfers from Veni Vidi Vici and made them Veterans and would have altered some of the Legionaries to make them without crests to give it a more historical feel- mix them up a bit, since I believe that an actual Marian Army may have had a variety for helmets in use. These are 15mm Alain Touller figures and I do enjoy painting them. As for the basing -- I am attempting to compile my own rules. I like the square bases and the 2x2 formation as it is clean and seems to mimic actual formations, at least to me.
