George Arnold's
ITALIAN CONDOTTA
DBA IV/61

> Armies of the Fanatici > Eye Candy > DBA Resources > Fanaticus

This is my Italian Condotta army (IV/61) of the city of Florence, all options. The figures are almost entirely Mirlitons, with stray Essex and Museum Miniatures figures included among the camp followers. Florence's city symbol was a red fleur on white, which appears on the shields of the 4Sp infantry, the 8Cb pavises and on the General's flag. The flags, all Florentine, are also from Mirliton.

Condotta General (3Kn/Gen)

Condotta (3Kn)

Infantry (3Bd, 4Sp/Pk and 4Ax)

The 4Ax element on the right represents light assault infantry described in the Osprey book on Italian Medieval Armies 1300-1500. My 4Ax includes two sword and shield figures, and a couple of javelinmen.

Missile troops (8Cb, Art and 4Lb)

My 2x8Cb elements actually only include 6 figures each. Eight figures seemed too crowded on the base. The 4Cb became longbows because, by then, I was tired of painting crossbows and wanted a little more variety.

Skirmishers (2Lh and 2Ps)

Stradioti and gonners.

Camp and camp followers.

The camp is one that Vince Clyant from the London War Room made for me a few years ago, long before I decided to build this army. By happy coincidence, one of the tents also features some red fleurs.
