Gianni Cuoghi's Gallic
(DBA II/11)
This is the first army I
completed for DBA. I was really amazed by the Corvus Belli Gauls, so well sculpted and
proportioned, and with so many dynamic poses and details. The Gauls army can be a very
colorful one, so I enjoyed painting these miniatures a lot. For the shields I used Veni
Vidi Vici's 15mm "barbarians" shield transfers, in various color combinations,
which I trimmed and quartered to adapt to the shields.
The bases are the new Essex laser-cut plastic, with a couple of coasts of "Coat
d'arms" dark sand textured paint to cover the metal figure bases well. I washed and
highlighted, and then I glued on some static grass. Nice effect with a little extra
effort.
